From the desk of the Assistant Superintendent

Welcome to the Duxbury Public Schools.  As a veteran educator and recently retired superintendent of schools in Massachusetts, I am thrilled to be here in Duxbury to serve as your interim assistant superintendent for the 2017-2018 school year.  Even though my full-time start date is August 14, I have been working in the district for a few days here and there during the summer, and I have started to become familiar with our district's programs and procedures.  Having grown up on the coast of Maine, I am familiar with fresh salt air and beautiful landscapes, but Duxbury is beyond special.  This is truly a special community with breathtaking scenery, and I am so happy to serve as your interim assistant superintendent for one school year.

As the school year unfolds, I look forward to meeting as many people as possible, and I will do my best to keep this webpage as updated and complete with useful information as did Dr. Hunter.  In the meantime, best wishes for a restful August because before we know it we'll all be caught up again in the excitement of another school year.

    Sincerely,

    Timothy J. Farmer
    Interim Assistant Superintendent

This page provides information relative to all aspects of curriculum and instruction in the Duxbury Public Schools.   Curriculum includes our local curriculum maps as well as references to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.  Instruction outlines our current project and initiatives as well as plans for meeting the needs of all students.   Our assessment work is extensive and includes both MCAS results as well as local measures.  The district's planning occurs at many levels all of which connect through the strategic, technology and school improvement plans.  Duxbury's focus on professional development is continuous.  This page will highlight our recent and future efforts.

I look forward to bringing you both this factual information as well as connections to our students, staff and families as we see learning in action.
