Fiscal Year 2026

At the March 8, 2025 Annual Town Meeting, voters approved the Town and School Department Fiscal Year 2026 operating budgets at a Level Services +2.5% funding level. Town Meeting also approved a proposed FY2026 budget override to be placed before voters.

The override question was subsequently presented to voters at the March 29, 2025 Town Election and did not pass.

Following the Town Election, the School Department began preparing for implementation of the FY2026 operating budget, within the approved budget appropriation. As a result of the failed override outcome, budget elements contingent upon override approval were not implemented, including the continuation of free full-day kindergarten for FY2026, and the budget was aligned to operate within available resources.

The School Department appreciates the community's engagement in the FY2026 budget process and the continued support of Duxbury Public Schools

Capital projects that are moving forward during the 2025-2026 school year include:

• Chromebooks for Grades 6-12 (Year 2 of 4 year lease)

• Onion Field Upgrades

• Roof Repairs

• Abatement

• District Technology

• Elementary ELA Curriculum

Fiscal Year 2027

The 2026 Annual Town Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, will include consideration of Fiscal Year 2027 budget matters. The School Department will continue to participate in the Town's budget development process and share information as appropriate.
