What is C.O.A.S.T.? 

The COAST Program (Creating Opportunities for Academic Success through Transition) at Duxbury High and Middle schools, assists students who are struggling with mental health and/or medical issues that are impacting their ability to consistently and successfully access academic curriculum. 

The goal of the program is to transition students towards optimal school functioning by providing short-term therapeutic and academic support through collaborative school, home and community interventions. 

How Can C.O.A.S.T. Help?

The COAST program will ideally serve as a resource for students, parents, families, teachers and administrators for identifying, developing and providing effective treatment interventions that support social/emotional and physiological wellness.

Services Provided by C.O.A.S.T.

  • Short-term individual counseling with clinical social worker.

  • Individual treatment and academic goal planning.

  • Therapeutic support services to students and families.

  • Consultation with administration, teachers and appropriate staff members.

  • Referral to community providers and treatment resources.

  • Collaboration with community providers and resources.

  • Advocacy and Psycho-education around social and emotional challenges.
