Dear Kindergarten Family,

Welcome to Chandler School!  We are looking forward to your child joining us for their first school experience.  It is so important to us that both you and your child feel safe and supported by the Chandler School experience.  This site is designed to answer all your questions about your child's upcoming kindergarten school year, and please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Our online registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now available.  If you are new to the Duxbury Public Schools, you will need to create a parent portal account in Aspen.  If you already have students in the Duxbury Public Schools, you will register them using your existing Aspen Parent Portal Account.  Please access the directions to our Aspen registration process here.

Monday, August 18 - Teacher Assignments will be posted on the Aspen Portal.  Please use the same login information as when you registered your child.  Under “Published Reports”, click on the document titled, Kindergarten Welcome Letter.

Thursday, August 21 - Kindergarten Playground Parties!  (3:30 OR 4:30 depending on teacher name)

Tuesday, August 26 - Chandler Family Walkthrough - 4:00 - 5:00 PM - Families are invited to tour Chandler School during this self-guided walk-through.  Classrooms will not be open, and teachers will not be present, but it gives families an opportunity to find the location of their child’s classroom.  We are looking forward to welcoming back our returning families and meeting our new families!

Wednesday, August 27 - Kindergarten Welcome Day! Kindergarten students and 1 parent are invited to attend together. You will bring your child to school to meet his/her teacher, classmates, and become familiar with the new environment.  We ask that you bring only your kindergarten child in the classroom, and find other arrangements for siblings during this time.  Please note that each time you enter the Chandler School building you will be asked to show your ID.

• 9:45 - 10:30 am - Students with Last Names beginning with A - L

• 10:45 - 11:30 am - Students with Last Names beginning M - Z

Thursday, August 28 - First Day of School for Kindergarten!  First day of school for kindergarten students.  Students will take their regular transportation to and from school.  Please refer to the Chandler School website for supply list, and drop off and pick up procedures.  If your child takes the bus, they will begin on this day. 

Full Day Kindergarten hours are 9:10 - 3:25 and Half Day Kindergarten hours are 9:10-12:45.
