Support Reading At Home - Shared Reading Experiences

Explore Mass Literacy for Families and Communities:
Family-friendly explanations, strategies, and resources to support students at home to become strong readers and writers. Families and communities can use the information to learn more about reading and writing instruction and how to support it at home.

Digital Practice:

  • i-Ready Personalized Instructional Path: All students can access i-Ready at home. This digital practice platform assigns students lessons in literacy and math based on scores from the fall diagnostics. Lessons are in Three parts: teach, practice, and assess. If a student does not pass the quiz, they will be given a different lesson on the same skill. Students can use their Clever badge or school email to log into the Clever app or Clever website. i-Ready Central provides family resources, including a Family Resources website: iReady Family Resource Center and Fridge Tips for Home Practice.

  • Second Grade Fact Fluency Practice: Using i-Ready, students in second through fifth grades have access to "Fluency Flight". This program provides instruction on fact fluency strategies and then offers practice rounds. It tracks your child's progress in how well they know their facts and includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Additionally, through Clever, students may have access to other practice apps and resources based on what their teachers have shared on their teacher clever page.
