DMS News and Announcements

  • A Message from the Principal:

    Dear Students and Parents/ Guardians,

As we wrap up the 2020-21 school year, I've been reflecting on the year and all the ways our students, staff, and families persevered through the circumstances. To our students, you did amazing work this year in your classes, and adapted to the circumstances of hybrid learning in incredible ways. I look forward to a year of normal, face to face learning with you next year. To our families, thank you for partnering with me and our staff as we navigated each transition. This partnership benefitted our students directly and importantly. As we emerge from this year and into our new normal, I encourage you to use your voice and continue to partner with me moving forward, as I invite your students to do the same. Lastly, I want to wish all of our students and families a great summer full of good weather, fewer screens, lots of rest, and happy times.

    Summer Reading and Enrichment
Last Friday, Dr. Klingaman and our Curriculum Supervisors shared a variety of resources related to summer enrichment and required work in each of our buildings in the district. At DMS, we will all be reading a book called Count Me In, and students are encouraged to review the variety of optional enrichment activities provided by each department supervisor. To see information on DMS Summer Reading and Enrichment, please click here. This information is also linked on the DMS Website under "Quick Links".

    Student Information Updates
Each summer, you are typically asked to review your student's data and information, and complete a series of permissions for the school year. This year, this process will occur through our Aspen student information system, and an email regarding that process will be out in the coming weeks.

    DMS Technology Loaners
If your child borrowed any devices or chargers from the DMS Main Office, please have them bring those in to be returned as soon as possible to avoid being charged.

    Update from the Nurse
PARENTS OF 6th GRADERS - 6th grade students require a current physical (between summer of 6th and 7th) and updated immunizations. This information must be on file in the health office before your student can enter 7th Grade. This is a good time to schedule a physical as summer appointments get booked quickly.

If you have any questions, please email Karen Doyle at
