Summer Learning and Enrichment 2021
Welcome families! We hope you find some enriching and fun activities we have provided for the students. The letter linked below is from the district administrative team with regard to student summer enrichment experiences.
We have provided one site with all your summer work needs.
On our site, you will find separate math and reading choice boards with a variety of activities to choose from, including logs to record the work you do. We have also created an Alden/Chandler shared S.T.E.A.M. board with a multitude of ideas for some innovative and hands-on fun.
In order to keep skills sharp for the fall, Chandler students entering grades 1-2 should read daily for at least 10-20 minutes and practice their grade-appropriate math facts for at least 5-10 minutes. Incoming kindergarten students can practice letter and number recognition, letter sounds, writing their names, and book exploration. Students can log their reading and learning progress on the calendar or log pages provided on the choice boards.
You will also find many fun ways listed for students to stay engaged with writing, reading skills, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts. There is also a grade-level "book club" opportunity with a Google Form to fill out at the end, if you choose.
Any work the students do can be sent to their new classroom teacher at the beginning of the year. You can complete logs or take pictures.
Most of all we want the students to continue learning while having fun!!
Have a wonderful and relaxing summer!
