Director of Music & Band Director
Jill Noerenberg is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with B. M. and M. M in clarinet performance and a certification in education.Ms. Noerenberg has been a band director for the Duxbury Public Schools since 1994 and became the director of music in 2018. In addition to keeping a private clarinet studio, she teaches at Duxbury High and Middle School. At the middle school she works with the Silver Band and 6th grade band. At the high school she works with the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.
Ms. Noerenberg’s groups have performed at many esteemed venues. She conducted the Duxbury High School Wind Ensemble and Middle School Band at the Massachusetts MusicEducators’ Convention Concert Hour on several occasions. Her ensembles have performed at MICCA festivals, where they received Gold medals. They have also performed at Symphony Hall and at Carnegie Hall in the National Band and Orchestra Festival in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. In 2003, she conducted the Wind Ensemble at the MENC All-Eastern Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2013 her middle school Silver Band performed at the Eastern Division Conference in Hartford, Connecticut.
Ms. Noerenberg has been the Adjudication Chairperson for the Massachusetts Music Educators Southeastern District for the past fifteen years. She has conducted the Massachusetts Northeastern, Southeastern, Eastern, and Western Junior District Bands. She also conducted the Rhode Island All State Symphonic Band and the New Hampshire Middle School Honors Band. She directed the Festival Wind Ensemble for the South Shore Conservatory Summer Music Festival in 2009. Jill recently received the Lowell Mason award from the MMEA.
