800 ADVANCED PLACEMENT 2D PORTFOLIO
Grades 11,12 Full year – 5 Credits
This AP portfolio consists of all 2D work. It differs from the Studio Art AP course because it includes Art made with the computer, Digital Photography, Film Photography, 2D art, along with mixed media. Students may make a choice to focus on one medium or include multiple mediums. AP 2D art students work with the guidelines established by the College Entrance Examination Board. The objective is to develop a 2D portfolio where the student chooses their focus/concentration as well as their medium. All students are required to submit this portfolio in the spring of their senior year.
Please note: For Photography (film & digital)- Dark room chemicals, some film, and limited arista papers are provided. Students will require a 35mm film Single Lens Reflex camera and/or DSLR Digital; external drive for Mac and some ilford photographic paper. * Some cost for matting quality will also be required.
For Digital Art- Computers, tablets and styli are provided. An external drive for Mac is strongly recommended. Specialty prints may require additional paper.
