History; Ancient Civilizations
Duxbury Middle School
I grew up here in town and experienced K-12 in the Duxbury Public school system. I graduated from DHS in 2005 and went on to study History at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In May of 2013, I graduated from Lesley University with my Master's degree in Education. As a lifelong learner, this fall, I will continue my education at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, working towards a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership. I have been working in the Duxbury Public school system for the past several years and have taught 6th grade World Geography to 10th grade US History, with everything in between. The overarching goal in seventh grade is to engage with the ancient world so students can think about our own world from a different, historical perspective and look at our current global affairs with fresh eyes. Our focus is critical thinking and analysis to encourage students to act rationally and argue persuasively in order to become active, global citizens.
