The Calculus and Statistics Program
The Duxbury High School Mathematics program currently offers four levels of Calculus: BC Advanced Placement Calculus, AB Advanced Placement Calculus, Honors Calculus and College Prep Introduction to Calculus. The syllabi for BC and AB Advanced Placement Calculus are in direct alignment to the College Board AP Central syllabi. The Honors Calculus moves at a slower pace, with less rigor than the AP levels, and allows time for more of an exploratory approach to Calculus.
Our program also includes AP Statistics, a course that is recommended for all students choosing to pursue careers where data science plays an integral role. The Statistics coursework is slightly different in comparison to Calculus as it involves a greater amount of writing and interpreting data sets as opposed to abstract concepts.
