Standards-Based Report Cards
Chandler and Alden Schools
The Duxbury Public Schools offers a Standards-Based Report Card for elementary students in grades K -5.
The Standards-Based Report Card communicates what students are expected to know and be able to do as set forth in the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The format of the Standards Based Report Card allows us to define standards for each grade and determine how well students are progressing to meet the Curriculum Framework benchmarks.
The report card benefits students, teachers, and parents/guardians, as it gives a detailed outline of the expectations in each of the major academic areas: Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
We believe that your understanding of what is expected of your child and how well he or she is progressing toward the goals at his or her grade level is very important. We look forward to working together to provide your child with the knowledge and tools to be successful and reach his or her fullest potential.
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has provided families with Learning Guides outlining the standards and end-of-year expectations for each grade level. These can be found at the bottom of this page. They are also available on DESE's website in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.
Accessing your child's report card on the Aspen PortalLog in with your user name and password to the Aspen Home Page https://ma-duxbury.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.doThis Family Portal through Aspen provides you, as the parent/ guardian, a private login that allows you to view and print your childʼs report card. Communication regarding login credentials was sent to parents & guardians upon registration with our district from our Technology Department, and included directions for accessing your Aspen account. This portal also alerts you when the report cards are posted. Please be aware that the report card is posted as a PDF on your main portal page. The district does not send home printed report cards. If you know your Log in ID, but don't remember your password: On the login page, enter your user ID and then click the link "forgot my password". It will take you through the steps of changing your password. You will need to know the email address you used when signing into the portal the first time. It should be the email you would normally give the school to contact you. Once you've reset the password you can go back to the log in page and sign in.If you do not know your login ID, the typical pattern is your first initial, last name, no capitals, no spaces example: smilnerIf you have the same name as someone else in the district, you may have a number after your name like 2 or 3.If these directions do not help, you must come into the Chandler front office and see Mary Duffy with your driver's license. You must have your driver's license for security purposes, in order for our office to have appropriate access to your personal login credentials. Please do not contact the technology department for help with passwords as these matters are managed at the building level. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
