About the Teacher
Hello and welcome to first grade! My name is Molly Strauss and I've been in the classroom setting, both professionally and as a parent, for over 20 years! I began my career as a third grade classroom teacher in California, where I taught for two years before moving to Boston where I taught third grade for another year. I then took an extended break to stay home with my four children (now aged 15-22). When my youngest daughter started kindergarten, I began working in the Duxbury Public Schools; first as a substitute teacher and then for three years as a kindergarten assistant teacher. At that point, I decided to return to school and I earned a Masters degree in Special Education from Curry College. I worked for two years in the Barnstable Public Schools and I've been thrilled to be back home at Chandler Elementary School for the past two years. Here are two pictures of my family-they're never in the same place at the same time, any more!
