• Summer Enrichment 2020

Welcome families! We hope you find some enriching and fun activities we have provided for the students. The letter linked below is from the district administrative team with regards to student summer enrichment experiences.

    District Summer Learning Letter

We have provided one site with all your summer work needs.

    Summer Learning Resources

There you will find a separate math and reading choice board with a variety of activities to choose from, including logs to record the work you do. We have also created an Alden/Chandler shared S.T.E.A.M. board with a multitude of ideas for some innovative and hands-on fun.

In order to keep skills sharp for the fall, Alden students entering grades 3-6 need to read daily for at least 20 minutes and practice their multiplication facts for at least 5 -10 minutes. They can log that progress on the fun calendar or log pages provided on the choice boards.

You will also find many fun ways listed for students to stay engaged with grammar, writing, reading skills, mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts.

Additionally, students entering grade 6 should read the attached letter about suggested summer reading and see the DMS math summer work page for their math work suggestions.

Any work the students do can be sent in to their new classroom teacher at the beginning of the year. You can complete logs or take pictures.

Most of all we want the students to continue learning while having fun!!

Have a wonderful and relaxing summer!
