• Duxbury Middle School students will be responsible for reading one book over the summer (students and families can find specific book information below). Each of the three books has a common theme of unity, acceptance, and finding your voice within yourself through overcoming challenges. When students return to school in September, they will share their thoughts on the texts with teachers and peers and connect these thoughts to the ideas of unity and acceptance within our school community.

Grade 6: Count Me In, by Varsha Bajaj

Grade 7: Black Brother, Black Brother, by Jewell Parker Rhodes

Grade 8: Piecing Me Together, by Renee Watson

Students may challenge themselves and complete other tasks such as, but not limited to, listening to podcasts, watching a documentary, completing a geography challenge, staying informed about current events, traveling, meditating, and most importantly, enriching their life.
