Sam Schmetterer

Sam Schmetterer teaches band, chorus, orchestra, piano, and percussion from grades 5-12. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Sam has been teaching music in Massachusetts for over seven years. He is an active percussionist and performs regularly with many local orchestras. He is also the music director of MIT's Gamelan Galak Tika, an Indonesian percussion ensemble, where he has performed with the Boston Pops, Terry Riley, and the Kronos Quartet. Sam recently earned his Master’s degree from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University.
